My Apartment; 11:42AM

So I was looking back on the week, and I realized that I had forgotten to mention a couple things...

1. Monday night after classes my three roommates and I met for some ice cream. We went to this little gelato ice cream place, and I got a scoop of the Ferrero Roche chocolate ice cream. It was FENOMENAL.

2. Tuesday morning my senora took me and my roommate Marion to breakfast. I got two cafes con leche, and I also got something that was typical for a Spanish breakfast. Two pieces of bread, with mashed up tomato spread with olive oil. It was SO GOOD. It's like when you dip bread in tomato juice with olive oil, just all at once. Ugh, thinking about it makes me want more. Then that night, our Senora took us our for tapas at a bar near our place of living. I can't think of what the place is called on the top of my head, but the food was delicious. She ordered seafood for me; calamari and octopus. Oh my, I was in heaven. She also ordered some other tapas for the other girls that eat meat. We got a couple rounds of each. You know what that means.. we drank quite a bit. The way tapas works, is that you buy a drink, you get to choose a tapas with it. My roommates and I were a little buzzed with our senora, our senora on the other hand was a bit drunk, and started dancing in the kitchen when we got back home. Priceless.

3. Thursday night, we went to a restaurant a ways down the street we live on. After classes, around 8:30 we all met at a restaurant for dinner. When I say we, I mean everyone from our study abroad group. It was fun. I ordered a bocadillo de salmon, it was the greatest bocadillo I've had here yet, let me tell you. It had tomatoes and asparagus. I had another sandwich similar to that Wednesday afternoon with my roomies, but it was called a Bocadillo Norwego (Norweigan) same thing, smoked salmon, asparagus, tomatoes AND caviar. SOOOOO GOOOD. YUM.

Lastly, the Bears' game was a total disappointment! Not to mention I got drunk due to the fact that they were playing so miserably. We all (meaning every single American in the Granada area) hit up this Irish pub called, Hannigan's and Sons. It's a nice pub, where they speak a lot of English, all the "guiris" (Spanish for foreigner) go there and they also played a lot of music I knew (Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age) Besides some minor downsides to the night, I enjoyed myself and my time with my friends. Michael, Joe and I went to a little shawarma restaurant on the way home, and I got a Falafel sandwich. I MISS FALAFEL (I eat it all the time at Pita Inn back home). Definitely going back there soon.

I have about 4 more days 'til the intensive language course is OVER. I have my final exam on Friday, from which I heard shouldn't be too bad. I've learned a lot from the course, don't get me wrong.. I just don't look forward to it anymore... shame. It's all good, I can't wait til I start my actual courses! I am taking a couple Hispanic Civilization and Culture courses, Didactica (teaching) de Espanol como Lengua Extranjera, an Oral and Written Production course, etc... should be interesting.

Plans for Italy are in progress. More on that later. :)
